Climbing Rope Commentary
| The Little People... | | I have a series of books called The Borrowers. There are 5 in the set and they are about the adventures of a family of little ppl. The books are great and I’ve read them dozens of times. There was also a movie by the same title. I like the books better but I first learned about them from an old movie on Turner Classic Movies.They live under the floorboards, in an old boot, an old teakettle, a miniature village and finally under a windowseat in an old rectory. In the books they move a lot for fear of being “seen” and caught. There are some ppl in the books that try to help them and care for them. There are others that want to cage them and charge ppl to look at them. They survive on the scraps and small items that humans toss aside. A safety pin, opened and with a piece of string tied to it, makes a climbing rope to get up and down curtains and tablecloths. A thimble makes a largish cup. Clothes are made out of lost gloves, hankies and socks. It’s really amazing when you read about it. In the book it says they tend to stick to houses with no pets and no small children. They like homes that are on routines and have lots of nooks and crannies to hide out in.I think if I ever... | |
