| GPS subscription | | Is there subscription charges for GPS using in mobile phones. If there are, then what are the rates for that any idea??? | |
| | | Do you use a GPS? | | I'm planning to buy a GPS but can't decide which brand to get. I've heard that Garmin is a good one according to reviews from amazon but Garmin has a lot of models to choose from. I'm the kind of buyer who prefers to read product reviews first before purchasing.Do you use GPS? If so what brand do you have? Are you happy with it? | |
| | I'm going to get one of those GPS thingies | | I went into downtown Charleston last night for the second night in a row and got lost for the second night in a row. I knew where I needed to be but with the labyrinth of one-way streets I couldn't get there.
Maps don't work.
Neither does Mapquest.
I need a GPS.
I am great for getting lost.
I don't just get lost, I get good and lost.
And those sultry voiced women on those things who tell me where to turn?
I'm going to call mine Amelia.
As in Earhart.
And y'all know what happened to Amelia Earhart right?
One final note to self: It is not a good idea to drive through standing water on the road with your top down. Let's just say I got a good shower, AFTER the rain showers ended.
That was my Friday night.
How was yours?

| | I just don't get the hang of the "GPS" . | | I have tried to use a GPS more than once and every time I shut it down. I think its too slow or maybe I just drive too fast for the directions. I'd rather read a mapco or Google driving directions than to be frustrated by a GPS. | |
| | What kind of GPS do you use to Geocache? | | I heard about geocaching around the time it came out, but figured I could never do it because at the time GPS was a new technology being sold the the masses and very expensive. Being many years later, GPS is a common commodity and Google with their terrain view, finding caches is now for everyone! I recently acquired a family member's old hiking GPS, the Magellan SporTrak Pro. I haven't kicked the habit of using Google Maps yet, but I'm hoping to get out and test the Magellan later this week. However, since it's old, I'm thinking about acquiring another GPS. What GPS device do you use? Please provide the company and model (if you know it). Thanks for your help! | |
| | | How many of you install the GPS navigation in your car? | | Last time I went for a business trip in another town, I just gave the address to the taxi driver, then he knew how to get there easily with the help of the GPS navigation. If you are the type who travel to the new and unfamiliar place for work or play, adding a GPS-based navigation system to your car make sense. Many of the navigation system gave both the audio and visual turn-by-turn diection to many address. It will give much convenience to your driving.Have you installed the GPS navigation in your car? Do you think it is save your fuel cost after you installed the Navigation? If you did take the taxi, would you prefer to take the one with installing the GPS navigation? Appreciate your comment here. | |
| | How a GPS of your car can land you into a mess. | | A couple of weeks ago a friend told me that someone she knew had their car broken into while they were at a football game. Their car was parked on the green which was adjacent to the football stadium and specially allotted to football fans. Things stolen from the car included a garage door remote control, some money and a GPS which had been prominently mounted on the dashboard.
When the victims got home, They found that their house had been ransacked and just about everything worth anything had been stolen.
The thieves had used the GPS to guide them to the house. they then used the garage remote control to open the garage door and gain entry to the house. The thieves knew the owners were at the football game, they knew what time the game was scheduled to finish and so they knew how much time they had to clean out the house. It would appear that they had brought a truck to empty the house of its contents. So a GPS device which we keep for our convenience can drag us into a nightmare.Another Shocking incident which proves that technology is harmful if not used properly and cautiously. | |
